Personal document translation
Translations of personal documents from Russian into foreign languages are typically needed for submission abroad or at embassies and consulates of foreign countries located within the Russian Federation. Conversely, if a document was originally issued in a foreign language, a translation into Russian is required for submission to various Russian authorities for purposes such as:
- Personal identification
- Admission to primary, secondary, or higher education, as well as other training courses
- Obtaining a work permit
- Applying for a temporary residence permit
- Applying for permanent residency or citizenship
- Accessing medical services
A notarised translation usually consists of two or more pages bound together. The original document or a copy is bound with the translation, bearing the translator’s signature and the notary’s stamp and signature. Common documents bound with their translations include:
- National identity documents
- Driving licences
- Degrees with transcripts
- Graduation certificates
- Marriage certificates
Some documents are bound with the translation in their original form, such as:
- Child travel consent forms
- Employment certificates
- Enrolment certificates
- Certificates of good conduct
- Bank references
- Powers of attorney
Before submitting a translation to an institution, it is advisable to check their specific requirements for document formatting. If you are unsure, one of our managers will be happy to advise you and help you choose the right option.
We also translate a range of other personal documents, including:
- Higher education diplomas with transcripts
- Employment records
- Bank statements confirming account status, absence of debts, or penalties
- Wills, declarations, and powers of attorney
- Medical certificates and assessments
- Documents from courts and law enforcement agencies
- Agreements, contracts, certificates, licences, financial and accounting documents
If you are uncertain whether your document requires notarisation, our manager will recommend the best course of action when you place your order.
If notarisation is necessary, simply place your translation order with us, and we will handle the rest—including arranging certification by a notary. The cost of notarisation is included in the translation price, so you will receive a notarised translation ready for use.
Typically, the price of translating personal documents covers both the translator’s fee and the notarisation. If your documents do not require notarisation, please inform the manager at the time of ordering. In such cases, we can certify the translation with our company seal.
